Bradken Investing $12 million in Capacity Expansion for Bassendean Manufacturing Site

Bradken has confirmed a $12 million investment in its manufacturing site at Bassendean, Western Australia, designed to meet demand for fixed plant wear solutions from its Australian mining customers.

Coming online in a phased approach over the next two years, the expansion will increase the site’s capacity for rotable chute manufacture and refurbishments by 50% as well as wear plate liner production and is expected to create more than 70 new local jobs.
Amanda McNaughton, Executive General Manager Operations for Bradken, said the project was a key step in the company’s growth strategy.
“Bradken’s West-Australian operations have proudly supplied the Australian mining industry with quality fixed plant wear solutions for almost 50 years,” Ms McNaughton said.
“Our innovative products and services are well regarded in the market for their reliability and as we look forward we know we need to invest in ourselves to keep step with the needs of our customers and grow with them.
“By reprioritising the layout of the Bassendean site and investing in new plant and equipment upgrades we’ll have the ability to increase annual chute builds and refurbishments grow the site’s capacity for our Duablock, Duaplate and ceramic wear liner production processes.
“As Bradken focuses on partnering with our customers wherever they are in the world, this investment is key to ensuring we can deliver what they need, when they need it.”
The project is expected to be fully completed by April 2025 with additional capacity progressively being brought online from early next year.
